When I fought last weekend at UFC 118, all of my friends and family were wearing some green shamrock shirts that I had printed up. “I don’t need a lot of time. A lot of my fights have ended quickly and it’s only a small window of time and opportunity you need to win a fight with a submission or knockout, and I’m in there for 15 minutes and I’m there to fight until the very last bell.”
The sport of mixed martial arts is filled with stories of Spartan dedication to training and the sacrifices necessary to compete at the highest level of the sport. Everything from diet to being away from family for weeks …

This is Josh aka “Slicky” at my gym tonight. Josh is an absolute killer in every sense of the word… pretty sure he has no soul to go along with some ridiculous standup and grappling skills. He is going to be the first of our third generation of fighters. There is a slightly younger version of Josh on the way too… his younger brother Ben.
Dealing with family can be really tough sometimes. When you mix business and family… it’s an absolute nightmare. You make a tough decision and its cold. You go easy on someone and they are only treated that way because they are family. I am usually tough on Dan, but it’s because I love him and want what’s best for him. I know that me being easy on him in training is not going to help him when there is someone across the cage from him trying with everything they have …
This was from the AFO MMA Show tonight at Plymouth Memorial Hall. They were having a ring card girl contest later in the night, and the “talent” of one of the girls was to do a flying armlock. So here you go. Random… but entertaining.
