Watchmen and then Surgery
Surgery is tomorrow and it can’t get here soon enough. I am going stir crazy! I just want to get this surgery done and over with and focus on rehabbing. I guess its more or less a 4 hours ordeal from getting to there to going home. I will be down for a while afterwards… stuck in bed and not moving around at all. I am not a fan of pain medication at all, so I will take it the day of the surgery and maybe the next day and then get off them completely. I think its good feeling the pain when I do something I shouldn’t be, and I don’t want to reinjure it. On top of that, I have already promised myself I wouldn’t cry so it won’t be that bad.
I am going to document the whole rehab process from start to finish. Going to take pictures and video tomorrow of my knee when I wake up and what I can do with it, and then will keep updating my blog as I go every couple days. I know I read a LOT of what other people went through for their rehab, so I will try and go one step further with pictures and video to maybe help others down the line. It will give me something else to do as well.
Going to see the midnight showing of Watchmen tonight. I would most likely have gone tonight anyways but I really need to go tonight now if I want to see it because I think it will be a few day before I am leaving the house.

Good stuff. Did you get my facebook message (Game ready, rehab stuff)?

Good Luck with surgury and rehab. Oz and I will be to aggression on the 17th to train. Hopefully you’re up on your feet by then. Maybe hobbling without the crutches. We’ll see you in a couple weeks. Be safe.
Lot’s of movies and computer looks like for ya. Well, I know you’ll keep us updated so “see” you soon and take it easy. ::hugs and kisses::

documenting it would be great just found out I have a torn acl and some other stuff wrong with my knee and don’t know much about it. This would be good for me and I would appreciate it
Hey Joe, Watchmen is going to be sick, going to see it tomorrow probably. Hope the surgery goes well and you’re back on your feet in no time. Don’t try to go too insane on it and reinjure it! Later bro.
Good luck – my friend just had the maniscus surgery done – she is a lot older so the rehab is a little harder – but she is getting there. Hope it all goes well. What hospital are you having it done – I know New England Baptist is a great place for surgeries such as yours.
Whoah.. I tore my Miniscus a few years back, and ankle… No surgery needed… Just a straight cast for way too long! Good luck with rehabing! how long will you be out for?
Well good luck with your surgery hun! If I was there.. I would help nurse you to better health
~ And I wouldnt let anyone know if you cried..lol. We would just curl up in bed and watch some movies…have some popcorn and chill. At least till you started feeling a little better. I hope all goes well hun. If you ever need someone to chat with..you know I am here! XOXOXO
Hey Joe, I read about your injury a few days ago and I thought I’d relate my story. I ruptured my ACL about six weeks ago and had reconstructive surgery on the nineteenth of February. Before surgery I made sure I had complete extension of my leg because after surgery that is the hardest to get back. I opted for the patella tendon graph. I also train and compete in MMA and my doc told me that would be the best choice, but I would have some nice scars as a result of that particular surgery. My surgery was on a Thursday, I saw the doc on Monday, and was in therapy Tuesday. I was on crutches all the time after surgery for about a week. After seeing the therapist they wanted me to start putting weight on it. When I went back to therapy on Thursday they had me walk between parallel bars. I did well so I was told to ditch the crutches while at home but use them when I go out and about. Now I have a really nice and really expensive brace and I’m walking with no problems. Having full extension after surgery helped a lot with therapy. The first thing they did with me was to check my extension then measure my range of motion from full extension to curling my leg in. I was told they shoot for ninety degrees after the first two weeks. I measured an eighty-eight the first time they checked. Overall the pain after surgery wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. They used a nerve block in my leg which helped a lot with that, but when that block wore off I was hurting pretty bad. I have a feeling you’ll use those pain meds more than you think. Right now I’m just taking it one step at a time trying not to rush things. Not being able to work or train is starting to wear on me so I try to keep myself as occupied as possible. When I can’t train my body I’ll train my mind. I hope this has been helpful, and I hope your surgery goes if without a hitch. I expect you’ll come out of this better than ever. Remember, “pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.”
