I’ve been slacking…

31 January 2010 15 Comments

When I hurt my knee, I had a lot of down time and said I was going to blog more. I really haven’t been living up to it though, so I want to fix that. I don’t consider myself an expert at anything, but I think I know a little bit about a lot of different things. I want to write about things you want to read about though, so I would love some input. Off the top of my head, I am thinking…

Modern Warfare 2
XBox stuff in general
Jiu-Jitsu and Grappling
Training Ideas
Cutting weight for competitions
Computer Stuff
Mac vs PC
Movies… previews, reviews, etc…

What else do you want to read about? And what do you think of all these categories? Feedback is important to me and I read everything you guys post… so take the 2 seconds it takes to register and comment on things to let me know!

I don’t know about everybody else, but I’m interested in hearing about all of that stuff. I’m probably most interested in fight stuff, since I’m an amateur fighter, but I’m also a geek who spends a good chunk of time on the computer.

Training Ideas is always cool to get different ideas to integrate into one’s own training. I like to keep my daily circuit training fresh, to avoid plateau, so I enjoy reading about training to get new ideas and keep myself challenged. So that’s my 2 cents…

    Thx

um hmm i’d like to hear your opinion on fights and stuff like for instance last nights strikeforce event, other than that i’m not really sure you got a pretty good list going

Write about MW2! haha. Also, maybe some good stretching exercises for juijitsu if you know any

I think you could write about anything your pretty self wants to write about…and we would LISTEN

I would really like to read about grappling. I remember listening to an interview you did (I think for the New England Fights podcast) where you talked about your thought process on Jiu-jitsu, and how it was all about concepts and how you could “see” a map of Jiu-jitsu in your head. You also mentioned maybe writing a book on it someday down the line, this could be a good start…

    Thank you.

Well, you are best known as a fighter so it makes sense that you talk mostly about fight stuff . . .
but I think you shouldn’t shy away from blogging about tech/pc stuff just to show everyone how 1337 your page can be

post the script you used to delete those thousands of facebook requests you got, not many will know what it says or is, but will gaze upon it in awe

Don’t be afraid to unleash the inner geek, Joe . . . it’s probably not safe caged in there with the inner BEAST

    HAHA

Mw2 Is the topic I want to hear what it would feel like when I catch you in the favela camping and I run up and stick a Semtex to your back. My gamertag is TWO RUSTY GUNS if you have any doubts about the outcome. Ak47 with the grenade launcher is my weapon of choice

I think you should post about anything you’re interested in posting about. If you’re excited to write about it, people will be excited to read it. Things you’re passionate about will likely come off as the most interesting regardless of the actual subject matter.

Sure, not everyone will be into every post, but that will happen regardless of what you write about. Even someone like me who lives and trains Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in MA, works in IT, and games probably won’t find every post of yours equally thrilling.

I agree that you should feel free to let out your inner geek out as much as the fighter!!

I think Ian is right.. there are so many fighters out there that are still major gaming fans so they would be my top two choices…

I would be interested in particular to hear about your recent time in Hilo.. and if you have any suggestions to aspiring fighters who seek the same style of training as gary and marv’s but cannot afford to fly to them to their camp!!

look forward to you climbing back up the ladder Joe! your one of my favorite fighters and I look forward to seeing you fight again!

Jiu-Jitsu, grappling and training…plus any psychology stuff that you use. Technology or scientific stuff involved in your sport. What you do for core training…do you use weights or kettlebells?Anything to do with MMA…your travels, opinions and experiences.
Good luck to you and your brother…looking forward to your next fight.

I think you should post whatever is going on in the life of Joe. I love watching MMA but personally my daily workout consists of coding ASP.NET applications by day, and playing MW2 at night.

I for one could care less about the specifics of your workout regiment. I would much rather get you to join me and my friends for some MW someday or watch you wrestle a pig or feed your friends raw/frozen hamburgers…

One last thing/idea… have you ever played against Jens Pulver in MW? I think a Lauzon vs Pulver rematch would be entertaining for us Geeks.

all of that sounds good to me!

Hey, I read somewhere that you are a fan of heroes, it would be great to hear your thoughts on any TV shows you follow. :) I love the video of you and BJ training together!
