I’m like Superman

Whenever people hear “ACL surgery” they assume the worst. I know for a long time, an ACL surgery was the end of an athletes career. I have gotten so many emails from people telling me it ended their football, soccer, track and basketball careers. Tomorrow will be 8 weeks since surgery and I am amazed at how much more I am able to do. Rehab has come a long way. (continue reading…)
Up and at em’

I was basically stuck in my room for the last month and a half. I couldn’t even get around the house for a while and I definitely couldn’t go outside the house without help. Just walking was pretty slow and difficult and driving was completely out of the question.
Walking without the brace

I have still been walking with the brace when I leave the house but I can walk without it around the house. I was at rehab and they said it was okay but I was super nervous about it. I had visions of my knee exploding or something! It was fine though.
Able to walk… somewhat

I am still using the crutches because my quad muscle is on vacation… but its slowly coming back. I was off my feet for two and a half weeks before surgery, so my quad was on its way out and since surgery its really gone. Its pretty sad to look at my left quad and see the muscle definition, and then see my other fat thigh with no muscle in sight. I am able to actually flex it a little bit now though whereas before I couldn’t even hold a muscle contraction.
