Florian vs Gomi Fight Night Picks

The UFC is branching out all over the place and this is their first show in North Carolina. I am happy to see them hitting so many other cities and states and letting the UFC brand really move outside the typical Las Vegas area. Fortunately, they are coming to BOSTON in the fall if all goes as planned, which will be great. That should be when I fight next, hopefully. Here are my picks for a couple of the fights tonight.

Update on my training with BJ Penn

It has been almost 2 years since I was out here, but it’s like I never left. Almost everything is the exact same around the gym and around town. Some things have changed, but it’s really just more of the same. I was telling Shane being in Hilo is like being caught in a time warp or something. It’s almost like Hilo is still in the 80′s! LAS VEGAS (Dec. 31, 2009) – Exciting UFC lightweight contender Joe “J-Lau” Lauzon (18-4, 5 [T]KOs, 13 submissions), only 10 months after undergoing knee surgery to repair his ACL, enters the Octagon once again Saturday night to fight Canadian veteran Sam “Hands of Stone” Stout (14-5-1, 8 [T]KOs, 1 submission) on the UFC 108 pay-per-view show, live from MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Christmas Day at the Lauzon house centered on fighting rather than the traditional holiday cheer.Brothers Joe and Danny are both slated to fight in separate lightweight bouts at UFC 108 on Jan. 2 in Las Vegas, which will be the first time siblings have appeared in the Octagon on the same night in its 16-year history. (Matt and Mark Hughes, as well as brothers Dan and Jim Miller, have all appeared in separate events.) The experience of training side by side has redefined the term “brotherly love” in more ways than one.

All the Hard Work is Done

Well… it’s over. Training camp for UFC 108 has officially ended. I did my last day of boxing with Steve Maze this morning and it’s all smooth sailing from here. Tonight I will pop into the gym to see everyone and we fly out tomorrow afternoon.

Giving away UFC108 Tickets on my Twitter

I am going to be giving away tickets to the my fight at UFC108. I have around 50 people coming out to Vegas with me for the fight, and I bought a few extra tickets for those people that decided to come last minute. I knew I would have some tickets left though and I am planning to give them away on Twitter. Which is good for you, provided you follow my twitter.

Sitting at the airport, going to UFC100

I always get to the airport way early so I don’t miss my flight…. so here I am. My plane is supposed to leave in about an hour, so it shouldn’t be too bad. I am going to Vegas for UFC100 and the UFC Fan Expo. It should be a great time weekend all the way around. I talked with Matt Arroyo earlier this week so I will hopefully meet up with him and get to do some light training. Going to meet up with “Grandpa” Tony Blauer at some point, most likely for some double doubles because we are both fat kids at heart. I talked to Noah Thomas last night too and he is apparently out there for a few days too. Read More | Comments
